Playing with Mark Egan.
This guy right here is one of the best ever. I don't usually get too starstruck, but Mark Egan played on the soundtracks to both my middle school years (Sting's "Nothing Like the Sun") as well as my college years ("Pat Metheny Group"). Here we are working on a track from Bodhiheart's new release, "Love Rules".
This album was easy to make. Noah Hoffeld (cello) and I just improvised together a bunch and then chose our favorite takes to release. Some of them were good as is, but for others we thought adding tabla and bass would be a good move. Mark came in and listened to our music the way I listened to him when I was growing up - not like a studio musician with a job to do, but like a listener, an enthusiast. When it came time for him to add his voice into the mix, he did so with ease and clarity and LOVE.
Since a picture is worth 1,000 words, I'll simply say that I'm grateful to Mark for being a part of this album. No doubt, the music is stronger for his presence. You can stream or purchase Love Rules here.
Stay safe and happy,
Wells
